Edmund Rice Voluntary Service Programme
The Edmund Rice Voluntary Service Programme aims to provide social justice volunteering opportunities to those aged 18-25 years old who have been involved in:
- Edmund Rice Awards
- Edmund Rice Camps and/or
- Developing World Immersion Programme
There are opportunities to volunteer both locally within Ireland and in Zambia. Placements offered include:
- Local
- Tutoring in an alternative school project for teenagers in Belfast
- Mentoring in a child contact centre for separated families
- Leading a teenage integration programme for asylum-seekers and local teenagers in Waterford

International
2-3 week summer programme in July/August to Lusaka, Zambia. Programme includes volunteer work and reflection on faith and social justice questions that arise from the experience.
In addition to a placement, volunteers would be offered:
- Opportunities to explore questions around their faith that have been sparked by their work
- Chances to deepen their understanding of social justice issues.
